The letters were addressed at Attorney General Merrick Garland and to Gary Gensler, Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and Rostin Behnam, Chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commissions (CFTC). He asked the three officials to reveal whether they had investigated FTX, or its sister company Alameda Research and whether their respective agencies had settled with them. “The success of Mr. Bankman Fried’s criminal enterprise briefly made it one of America’s wealthiest men ,(…). He used his ill-gotten wealth to support the Democratic Party, becoming its second largest individual donor after George Soros in recent years.
