Core Scientific was sued Monday for failing to disclose unfavorable financial circumstances in its disclosures to shareholders.

Mei Pang, plaintiff and shareholder, claims that the corporation gave incorrect information to its shareholders between March 3 and October 28 this year.

Culper Research, an investigative financial research company, revealed that Core had misrepresented its profitability and was in conflict with Gryphon, a Bitcoin miner. Gryphon was unable to access the required mining equipment that Core Scientific needed to host at its data centre due to a lack in funding.

Core Scientific’s stock fell by $0.72 (9.4%) to close at $6.98 March 3, 2022 as a result.

Celsius claimed that Core Scientific, which has clients who are setting up their own mining operations from its data center, delayed the deployment and provided less power than required by the contract.

The stock price of the company fell 78.1% to $0.789 the day before the bankruptcy warning, before closing at $0.221 per shares.
