After firing Twitter employees who had publicly criticized him on social media, this is a new development at Twitter. Musk had earlier written to employees to tell them that they must work hard and put in long hours. Musk also offered the option to quit and a three-month severance package. Musk was criticized by both the Twitter communities and employees for his actions.

Some of the fired employees continue openly to criticize Musk’s management style for the social media company.

Musk recently wrote to his team of engineers to ask them about their ability to write software. Musk sent an email to the CEO of Tesla asking for any engineers who believe they are capable to send Musk a summary of their achievements over the last six months. Musk sent a new email to the engineering team requesting that the software engineers submit 10 screenshots of their “most salient lines” of code. The email reads:
“Anyone who is able to write software, please report to our 10th floor at 2pm today. Please email me a summary of your code commits in the last 6 months.
Twitter management informed employees on Thursday that the offices were closed and that badge access would be suspended until Monday. This caused confusion among employees. The offices were shut down in order to streamline existing employees and protect their access to the software. Binance CEO CZ spoke out in support of Elon Musk’s recent changes to the social media company.
